ABOUT US

The Transregio Collaborative Research Center TRR234 is a collaborative project between Ulm University and Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena with additional project partners at Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research Mainz, Vienna University and the Institute for Photonic Technologies Jena.

CataLight will explore the controlled linkage of molecular light-driven catalytic units with hierarchically structured soft matter matrices to convert solar radiation into chemical reactivity. CataLight brings together experts in molecular and polymer design, materials science, theoretical and experimental photochemistry and photophysics as well as materials characterization. Together, the team will learn and rationalize how reactivity changes upon matrix integration, how directed charge transfers within the matrices can be enabled and how concepts of reactivity, regulation and repair can be introduced on the molecular level.
